The production of ID cards generally starts with the purchase of raw materials and goes through several steps before producing the finished product. The following is the usual ID card production process:
Preparation of raw materials: Materials such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and PETF (polyester film) are purchased and then cut into small pieces of the right size from large sheets by a cutting machine.
Designing the pattern: The ID card's exterior pattern (including basic layout, fonts, logos, etc.) is designed and mapped using a graphics editor or other software.
Making steel moulds: Based on the ID card's appearance pattern, the pattern and text are printed on the steel mould using machines such as laser lettering machines or electronic plate making machines.
Material printing and laminating: The ID card material is printed and laminated so that the surface of the ID card material is smooth, colourful and legible.
Hot pressing: The ID card material is heated by a hot press and then printed on the material using a steel mould that has been made to make the chip, text, photo and other information on the ID card clearly visible.
Personal information printing: personal information as well as the chip and 2D code of the ID card are printed on the ID card using machines such as laser marking machines.
Cutting and sealing: The hot pressed ID card is cut to shape according to the standard size (85.6mm x 54mm) and sealed to make the ID card neatly edged all around.
Inspection and packaging: The finished ID cards are tested to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the ID card information records, and then packaged and sorted for delivery.
